Sandmeyer History
Sandmeyer Steel was founded in 1952 by the late Paul C. Sandmeyer. With almost 65 years of producing stainless steel and nickel alloy plate products, we have a wealth of pictures and stories about our business, people and culture over the years. We’ll be sharing some of our history here and on Twitter and Facebook on Thursdays- look for the #TBT or #ThrowbackThursday hashtag!

Special cut shape- gate valve
With our vast in-house plate processing capabilities, Sandmeyer is able to cut special shapes with speed and accuracy. Pictured is a gate valve. After we cut it, we brought it to our sophisticated three axis, double column, vertical machining center for contour milling. Our ability to produce near-net shapes in-house saves our customers time and money by providing a ready-to-use piece.

Sandmeyer Steel Company introduces its newly redesigned website at www.sandmeyersteel.com.
The new website features a mobile-optimized interface that makes it easy for users to access information about inventory, capabilities, industry certifications, market applications, and technical specifications. The site streamlines customer communication by providing easy access to the “Request Quote” form as well as detailed company contact information, ensuring every customer gets the answers they need quickly.
Visually, the new site features an updated “look and feel” as well as new photography and video, including aerial footage that showcases Sandmeyer Steel Company’s vast inventory and extensive capabilities.

Sandmeyer Serves was established with the goal of making “significant contributions to the communities in which we work and live.” Many Sandmeyer employees have been volunteering with local organizations to make that a reality. Sandmeyer Steel employees donated 100 coats to the Recovery Christian Center c/o World Harvest, located in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.
Sandmeyer volunteers partnered with Friends of Poquessing Watershed to help with the clean-up of our community parks and recreation centers.
At the nearby Kleinlife Senior Center, Sandmeyer volunteers prepared breakfast bags, stocked shelves in their Food Pantry, served lunch, sat with the seniors during their lunch, cooked and packaged meals for homebound seniors, and other activities.

As part of our ongoing efforts to give our customers the best experience possible, we are now offering Tracking Notifications. Customers receive an email when their order ships, along with a tracking number so they can check the status of the shipment at any time. This automated process will add a level of convenience for our customers who need access to information quickly

This is an example of a special cut shape of 304L, 1 1/2″ (38.1 mm) thick, that we shipped to a manufacturer of bottling equipment for a brewery.
