As part of the “Sandmeyer Serves” program, we have partnered with Cradles to Crayons, a local non-profit that provides essential items to children ages 0-12 free of charge.
Cradles to Crayons collects new and nearly new children’s items through grassroots community drives and corporate donations. Donations are then processed and packaged by volunteers, and are distributed to disadvantaged children across the state through a network of social service agencies and school partners.
In addition to collecting donations from all employees, 16 Sandmeyer employees spent a day volunteering to process and package items for distribution.
During the day, we were able to impact the lives of 234 children.
- Our volunteers put together packages for 95 children with a week’s worth of clothing
- We sorted and created 68 bundles of cardboard books for children 2 and under
- We also created 71 bundles of books for children ages 5-6
It was a wonderful and rewarding day for all who volunteered, and another promising chapter in our Sandmeyer Serves program that we will continue in the new year.
