Nickel Alloy Plate
Alloy C276 Nickel Alloy Plate: Ore Processing
Ore processing involves mineral extraction that separates ore into valuable substances. Chemically aggressive solids and fluids are used in the extraction process. Selecting a corrosion-resistant material for ore processing equipment is very important. Pitting, or localized corrosion leading to small holes in metal, is a major concern with ore processing because of the presence of thiosulfates. For this reason, nickel alloy C276 (c-276) pipe and plate are premier materials for ore processing equipment. The alloy's ability to withstand harsh chemical environments makes it an ideal material for ore processing equipment.
C276 Nickel Alloy Properties
Nickel alloy C276 (c-276) is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium-tungsten material that is among the most corrosion-resistant alloys available. The high molybdenum content contributes to the resistance to pitting. C276 (c-276) is not only highly resistant to pitting, but is also resistant to chloride stress corrosion, cracking, crevice corrosion, and general corrosion. C276 (c-276) plate and sheet material has great high-temperature strength and can perform in oxidation environments up to 1900°F and reducing environments as well. Because of these properties, C276 (c-276) nickel alloy is used heavily in the ore processing industry. The alloy can also be used in its as-welded condition due to its low carbon content and resistance to carbide precipitation. Nickel alloy C276 (c-276) can be hot and cold formed, and can also be hardened by cold working. The alloy cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
